Lyon’s Clement Grenier believes his side know the importance of their upcoming derby with local rivals Saint-Etienne.
Grenier has received praise for his performances this

positive dynamic by racking up the wins,” he said.
always a bit delicate to talk about yourself because really it’s all about the
team. We’ve been through a few tough weeks but we’ve managed to get back on top

Lyon occupy the third and final UEFA Champions League
spot but are just two points ahead of their neighbours, however Grenier – who sustained
an injury in the opening stages of the reverse fixture in December – insistedthey are prepared for the challenge poses by the Coupe de la Ligue winners.
“We’re ready,” he continued. “We’re aware that it’s an important
end-of-season match, but anyway the derby is always a match that stands out
from the rest of the fixture list.
“Saint-Etienne are happy to have lifted the
Coupe de la Ligue trophy, but we’re out to win the derby and return to the
Champions League.”
“I arrived at Lyon aged 11, so people have been
talking to me about the derby my whole life. Everyone’s impatient for the match
to kick off.
“Being forced off injured after less than 15 minutes was
infuriating. I’ve been waiting to play in the next derby ever since.”
