Pep Guardiola has admitted he already misses football just weeks after leaving his position as Barcelona coach.
The La Liga club’s most successful trainer opted not to extend his stay at Camp Nou after four years in charge of Barca, citing exhaustion as the main reason for his departure.
Nevertheless, the 41-year-old has conceded he is already missing the game, before joking that he has had enough of playing golf.
“Am I missing football? I do miss it actually,” Guardiola told reporters in Malaysia.
“I am already tired of playing golf with my father.”
Guardiola guided Barcelona to 14 trophies during his four-year spell in charge of Barcelona and has been replaced by his assistant Tito Vilanova.
Asked which he enjoyed more – his player career or managing Barcelona – Guardiola said: “Of course, the manager and the coach get the team organised but it is the player on the field who has the power.
“The coach is outside of the game and commands it like a … remote control. But it is the player who gets the real job done.”
