(GSM) – Milan’s ambitions for the new season are sky high after the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho. The Rossoneri hope to return to glory after a number of disappointing seasons. Former club legend Ruud Gullit is hopeful Milan can be succesful again this season and even compared the current team to the dream team which featured Marco van Basten, Frank Rijkaard and Gullit himself.

“I am very positive and optimistic about Milan’s chances in the new season. We have the players again to compete with Manchester United, Barcelona and Chelsea; the three strongest teams in the Champions League,” said Gullit to El Mundo Deportivo.

“We have every reason to be optimistic with the arrival of Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. They’ll do great alongside Pato and Ronaldinho. Silvio Berlusconi kept his promises and has put together a great team again.

“The current team could be compared to the Milan team with Marco van Basten, Frank Rijkaard and me. Even though they probably need some time to gel. The most important thing is that there’s plenty of quality again.

“The team is a good mix of young Italian players and big foreign stars. Ibrahimovic will add a lot to Milan’s attack. Serie A suits him better than La Liga in my opinion.”
