Guzan rejects Arsenal link

Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan has rejected speculations linking him with a January switch to Arsenal.

The Gunners are believed to be readying a move for the United States international as they are not entirely satisfied by current number one Wojciech Szczesny.

Nevertheless, the experienced goalkeeper claims that he is perfectly happy at Villa Park and doesn’t plan to leave Aston Villa in the near future.

“Aston Villa, they’ve stuck by me, especially the manager,” Guzan was quoted as saying in Metro.

“He’s given me a chance to play consistent football in Europe. It’s always nice when you’re linked with other teams, but for me, I’m very happy at Aston Villa.”

Guzan was in amazing form last season and it is partly thanks to his stunning saves that Aston Villa eventually managed to beat the drop.

The 29-year-old has continued the rich vein of form this term and he continues to be regarded as one of league’s top goalkeepers.

He hasn’t been able to break into the starting line-up at the national team though, with Everton’s Tim Howard still the undisputed number one for the United States.
