Hamburg midfielder Marcelo Diaz has made it clear that he plans to leave the club in the upcoming transfer window.
It was the Chilean footballer who scored the goal that kept HSV in the top flight last season, ensuring they remain the only side to have played in each Bundesliga season since its establishment.
But, Diaz has since lost his place in the starting line-up and is clearly frustrated by the lack of first team opportunities.
The 28-year-old is no longer ready to wait for his chance at Imtech Arena and wants to leave at the earliest opportunity.
“I want to leave in the winter,” Diaz told Die Welt. “This is a difficult situation. I am very dissatisfied.”
Marcelo Diaz has found it hard to nail down a regular starting berth at Hamburg since arriving from Basel, having started mere eight league games in almost a year.
But, the Red Shorts are now doing much better than last season, and can be backed at 21/5 to win their next league fixture against Wolfsburg.
