Hamburg set to sign Brazil Olympics star

Bundesliga outfit Hamburger SV are on the verge of signing Brazilian full-back Douglas Santos from Atletico Mineiro, Bild can reveal.

The Red Shorts did well to recruit Bobby Wood, Filip Kostic and Alen Halilovic, but they plan to sign two more players on transfer deadline day.

Hamburg have reportedly agreed a €10 million deal for Atletico Mineiro left-back Douglas Santos, who impressed playing for Brazil at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The player who enjoyed short spells with Udinese and Granada is already in Hamburg and he will sign a long-term deal before the 18:00 deadline.

Santos started all six games to help the Selecao win their first ever Summer Games trophy.

At the same time, Hamburg are expected to announce a deal for an unnamed central defender, who has represented Germany at youth level.

The Red Shorts will be hoping to finally show some improvement following several largely disappointing campaigns.
