Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart could return to Hamburger SV, Bild has revealed.
The Dutchman is not entirely satisfied with his situation at White Hart Lane and he is heavily linked with a summer exit.
Should he decide to leave Spurs, Van der Vaart would probably jump at the opportunity to return to German Bundesliga, with Schalke and his former club Hamburger SV already showing interest.
The Dutch international earlier admitted that he had enjoyed his time with the Red Shorts, and failed to rule out a return to the club.
Bild now claims that Hamburger are ready to make their interest concrete and attempt to sign the highly rated playmaker.
Billionaire Klaus-Michael Kuhne has agreed to inject more money into the club and the Bundesliga side are expected to use the new funds for their assault on Van der Vaart.
The 29-year-old, however, has two more years left on his deal with Spurs, meaning that he won’t come on the cheap.
