Leicester City’s Dean Hammond has hailed the influence Esteban Cambiasso is already having over the club’s midfielders.
The former Argentina international agreed a free transfer to the King Power Stadium late in the transfer window and scored his first goal for the Midlands club in Sunday’s 5-3 win over Manchester United.
Cambiasso has won seven league titles during his illustrious career, including Serie A on five occasions with Inter, while he also collected a UEFA Champions League winner’s medal with the Italians.
Hammond believes the presence of such an experienced performer has helped his Leicester colleagues grow, even after such a short period of time at the club.
“You learn off Esteban every day,” he told the club’s official website. “His English is very good and he always talks to you.
“I have learnt so much from Esteban’s communication skills. All the time he is pulling players into position. He’s always dictating the game. He’s very good at knowing where he is on the pitch.
“If you see him he very rarely has more than one or two touches as he knows where he is. He keeps the ball very well and he’s a really nice bloke as well.”
Leicester travel to Crystal Palace this weekend as they go in search of a third successive win in the Premier League.
