Valentin Eysseric has received an 11-game ban from an LFP disciplinary committee after being sent off for Nice against Saint Etienne.
The midfielder’s sentence means he will miss the rest of the season after his tackle on Jeremy Clement resulted in a broken leg and several shattered ankle ligaments.
The horrific lunge on Clement, who is expected to be out for around six months, took place 24 minutes into the Ligue 1 match with the score at 1-0, and the Monaco loan signing will not be appealing the decision.
“I have nothing to say about the penalty, it is their decision,” the 20-year old told L’Equipe as he left the hearing.
“I explained my feelings and the action, they all listened.”
Nice’s defeat meant they dropped to fifth place on the table, two points behind fourth-placed St Etienne.
