Sunday Mirror is reporting that Jordan Henderson’s long-term future at Liverpool is in doubt as talks over a new deal continue to stall.
The Reds hotshot will be out of contract in June 2016 and while he would prefer to remain at Anfield, he has yet to agree on a new deal.
Henderson rejected a contract worth £80,000 per week back in November and there have been no talks since, with Liverpool reportedly not ready to break the wage budget despite seeing the England starlet as a key member of the squad.
Having seriously raised his game over the last year or so, Jordan Henderson is expected to inherit the captain’s armband when Steven Gerrard leaves, but the club officials need to try and tie him down to a new long-term contract as soon as possible or risk losing their star player.
The 24-year-old has been in scintillating form this season, having managed 4 goals and 7 assists in 27 Premier League outings.
