Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes said his team is lacking confidence after they could only manage a 1-1 draw with Hamburg on Saturday.
The Bundesliga giants required a late strike from Ivica Olic to salvage a point against Thorsten Fink’s outfit in their league clash at Imtech Arena.
But despite their efforts, Heynckes feels his players should not be pleased with their display, and said they lacked a winning mentality.
“I’m satisfied with my players’ determination, attitude and concentration, but we came here to win,” he said.
“That’s what we demand as a team. We had to work really hard after going a goal down. (Jaroslav) Drobny made a few good saves.”
“We deserved the equaliser, but we should have applied more pressure after that, but we’re finding that hard at the moment.”
“On the one hand we were hurried, on the other the final pass went astray. We’re a little short of confidence. We’d rather be top of the table of course, but it all doesn’t mean much at this stage.”
Olic equalised after Jacopo Sala had given Hamburg a 23rd-minute lead.
Bayern remain in second, although they are now two points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.
