Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes hopes Wednesday’s DFB Pokal quarter-final against Stuttgart will be the start of his side’s upward climb.
The Bavarians have won only one of their three games in 2012 as they dropped points against Borussia Moenchengladbach and Hamburg, and Heynckes is eager to return to winning ways versus Stuttgart.
“Wednesday’s cup match is a welcome opportunity. We can deliver a performance which gives us the confidence and belief we need for our forthcoming matches, and one which is normally our hallmark,” Heynckes said.
“The most important thing we have to do is minimise our numerous minor errors. The players are aware of the situation, and that we have to continue working persistently, ambitiously and intensively.”
“We’ve told the players in no uncertain terms what they have to change, and what has to improve. It’s just a matter of time, so I’m very calm and relaxed.”
