Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink has revealed that he tried to sign Brazilian forward Robinho while in charge at PSV Eindhoven.
Hiddink admits he was close to brining the Brazilian to the Eredivisie side.
“Robinho is a very attractive player,†said Hiddink to TeamTalk.com.
“In fact, I had the plan, when I managed PSV Eindhoven, to sign him and I went to meet him in Brazil. We were very close to a deal.â€Â
The former Santos forward instead decided to join Spanish giants Real Madrid.
“The idea is that before going to the big leagues – which are Premier League and Spanish league – it’s good to go to another league, where they can get used to European football on a different level,†explained Hiddink.
“We were very close, but at the last moment Real Madrid came in and we were out of it.â€Â

Fine and great too if guss hindink can sign robinho, but what Chelsea need mostly curently are both left and right wingers who can asist drogba well. Quaresman is absolutely o.k on the right and kalu or maluda can always exchange on the left. More so, young talents lyk Macine, stoch and disantos should be given chances, while deco and balack should be offloaded coz they are just scrambles plus Jose Morinho should come back to Chelsea if possible
the reason why robinho went to mancity is still surprising. he is still young and he is already thinking of money which is bad ,he should think of fame first then money.chelsea offer him a transfer but refused this time he should come to the bridge and play with the best coach and players,
if robinho goes to chelsea better but he should obey the new law of guus & 4get chasing ladies at night club.
