An agreement between AC Milan and Juventus for Gonzalo Higuain and Mattia Caldara to move from the Allianz Stadium in Turin to San Siro and Leonardo Bonucci to go the other way is very close, claims Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who works for the Guardian and Sky Sports.
On Monday, reports emerged that Higuain’s future was to be sorted very soon with such an exchange deal between the two biggest clubs in Italy being a likely option, with Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea looking set to miss out on the Argentina international despite expressing an interest.
The details haven’t been revealed yet, but it seems the business will involve the exchange of defenders Caldara and Bonucci, and Sky Sports claim Higuain’s move to Milan will be on loan for now.
The striker’s future at Juventus had been in doubt ever since the club entered talks with Real Madrid over the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo. With the Portuguese superstar having made the switch in the meantime and started training on Monday, it has been made clear that the Argentine isn’t a part of their plans.
