Queens Park Rangers defender Clint Hill hailed the club’s latest signing Loic Remy after he marked his Premier League debut with a goal.
Remy, who joined for a club record 8 million pounds from Marseille on Wednesday, opened the scoring as the Hoops earned a 1-1 draw against West Ham United at Upton Park on Saturday.
And club captain Hill believes the Frenchman will play a pivotal role in the west London side’s bid to avoid relegation this season.
Hill told reporters: “It was brilliant to see him take that chance. If we can keep the ball and create a few more chances for him he will go on and be a great signing for us.
“Hopefully he can kick-start our campaign.”
Centre-back Hill also reflected on QPR’s campaign to date, hinting at a belief that his side can pull themselves out of the mire thanks to the poor form of their rivals.
“We’ve had a terrible season, that’s the blunt truth. To find ourselves only four points behind shows other teams are struggling in this league,” he said.
