Hodgson keen on Wilshere

Crystal Palace are set to make a move for out-of-favour Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere in January, according to the Telegraph.

The twenty-five year old is keen to work his way into Gareth Southgate’s thoughts ahead of next summer’s World Cup finals in Russia with a loan move looking likely once the transfer window reopens.

Hodgson has made no secret of his admiration for Wilshere, who spent the majority of last season away from his parent club in a spell with Bournemouth, for whom he made twenty-seven appearances.

For the Gunners, he has played one hundred and sixty-five times in all competitions, scoring twelve goals though he has made just two Premier League starts so far this season.

He has been capped thirty-four times for the Three Lions, with both of his international goals so far coming in a 3-2 European Championships qualifying victory over Slovenia in the summer of 2015.
