Hoffenheim snatch Swedish starlet

Bundesliga side Hoffenheim have announced on their official website that they have secured the signature of Swedish midfielder Jiloan Hamad from Malmo FF.

The 22-year-old has signed a contract until June 2017 and will be joining the German club on a free transfer in the January transfer window.

Hamad has just won the Swedish Allsvenskan title with Malmo FF, while he was also voted the Player of the Season by journalists and fans.

The club captain was in scintillating form this term, managing 8 goals and 6 assists in 27 league fixtures.

He has been linked with Fulham, Norwich and West Ham over the past few weeks, but Hoffenheim eventually managed to win the race for the player’s signature.

The Azerbaijan-born midfielder, who had featured for BK Forward before joining Malmo FF, is part of Sweden Under-21 side, but he has already earned two full caps for the Sweden national team.
