Scottish League Cup holders Rangers were given a home quarter-final after being drawn in the last eight against Hamilton on Thursday.

Only an extra-time goal from Pedro Mendes saw the Gers past Partick Thistle and now they take on a Hamilton side fresh from a derby win over Motherwell.

Rangers's Glasgow rivals Celtic are also up against Premier League opponents in Kilmarnock.

Falkirk face Inverness Caledonian Thistle while Dunfermline, the only side from the First Division in the quarter-finals, are away to Dundee United. Ties will be played on October 28 and 29.
