(GSM) – Former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier is reportedly the hot favorite to fill the vacant Aston Villa managerial hot seat.
The Frenchman, who has been unemployed for three years, has held talks with Villa owner Randy Lerner about a possible return to football management in order to succeed Martin O’Neill at Villa Park.
The list of candidates includes Alan Curbishley, Sven Goran Eriksson and current caretaker boss Kevin MacDonald.
The three have been interviewed by the club and Houllier is the leading candidate for the job, according to the Daily Mail.
It is still unknown, though, if Houllier will be employed as a manager or as the club’s director of football
