Howson signs new Norwich deal

Norwich City midfielder Johnny Howson has put pen to paper n a new contract that will see him stay with the Norfolk club until 2018, Sky Sports understands.

The 25 year old, like a number of his Canaries teammates, moved to Carrow Road from Leeds United, and is the only player in Chris Hughton’s squad to have appeared in all sixteen of their league games so far this season.

He joined the club in January 2012, and racked up sixty outings in all competitions, scoring five times.

His performances this season have helped his side move slowly but surely away from the relegation zone, and follows John Ruddy and captain Sebastien Bassong in being rewarded with new deals.

Norwich travel to the Stadium of Light to face bottom of the division Sunderland on Saturday afternoon, and Howson is priced at 16/1 to celebrate his contract extension with the first goal of the game.
