San Jose Earthquakes forward Darren Huckerby has revealed the Major League Soccer side will be his last club.
Huckerby also hinted he could extend his deal, that expires at the end of the season.
“This will be the last team I play for,” Huckerby told the San Francisco Chronicle. “You can’t go on forever.”
“I’ll go out while I’m still on top, I won’t be playing ’til I’m 37 or 38.”
Huckerby has impressed following his summer move from Norwich and was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Month for September.
The former Coventry ace scored three goals and had one assist during the month.
“There are a lot of people who have speed and don’t use it the way they should,” he explained. “If I’ve got a chance to beat somebody, I beat them.”
“I don’t mess around with doing tricks or trying to be clever - I just get past them as quick as I can.”
