Hughes praises Bellamy and Robinho

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes picked out Robinho and debutant Craig Bellamy for praise following the 2-1 home win over Newcastle United. Former West Ham player scored one goal, The Brazilian served an assist to Shaun Wright-Phillips.

“Robinho was fully focused and looking ahead to the game”, said Hughes after the game. “Mentally he was in the right place, he was concentrating on the job in hand and it was never any real doubt for me that he should play”.

“The icing on the cake was Bellamy’s performance. Craig will strengthen this team because he is a quality player”, Hughes concluded.
