Hughes to fill Hodgson shoes at Fulham

(GSM) – Former Manchester City manager Mark Hughes is poised to take on the managerial post at Fulham later today.

The club has been in pursuit of a replacement for Roy Hodgson, who moved to Liverpool.

After Ajax refused let boss Martin Jol leave the club, Fulham chairman Mohammed Al Fayed turned his attention to Hughes.

Hughes was sacked by Manchester City last December and has been looking for a new job.

He was linked with a move back to the Premier League with Liverpool, but the Reds opted for Hodgson instead.

Hughes now faces the tough task of taking the Cottagers forward after Hodgson managed to lead them to the Europa League final last season.
