Turkish giants Besiktas are showing interest in Sporting Braga midfielder Hugo Viana, according to Fanatik.

The highly rated midfielder has entered the final year of his deal at Estadio AXA and will almost certainly leave the club in the summer.

Turkish newspaper Fanatik understands that Besiktas are hoping to sign the player when his contract expires in June.

Besiktas officials have already contacted the player’s agent Jorge Mendes to present him their contract offer.

They are hoping Viana’s international teammates Hugo Almeida, Ricardo Quaresma and Manuel Fernandes can help persuading the midfielder to sign for the Turkish giants.

Hugo Viana, who also had spells with Sporting Lisbon and Newcastle, joined Braga from Valencia in the summer of 2009.

He has since made 87 Primeira Liga appearances for the club, and scored 10 goals in the process.

Viania also helped the club improve their position in Europe, scoring 2 goals in 29 European appearances.
