Morelia defender Joel Huiqui scored an incredible own goal in his side’s 3-1 loss to Puebla in the Liga MX on Sunday.

The 29-year-old Mexican attempted a header back to his goalkeeper Federico Vilar, only for the Argentine to be off his line and stranded as the ball found its way over his head and into the net.

Felix Borja and Gustavo Alustiza added goals for Puebla after Hector Mancilla had equalised, with Morelia finishing the encounter with nine men.

Other strange own goals this season have come from Uruguay, Australia and during World Cup qualifiers, but none are better than Huiqui’s effort.
