Hull and Stoke eye Anichebe

Stoke City and Hull City are battling to secure the services for former Everton and West Bromwich Albion forward Victor Anichebe, according to the Mail Online.

The Nigeria international is a free agent after leaving the Hawthorns at the end of last season, having spent three seasons with the Midlands outfit.

He made a total of sixty-one appearances for the Baggies, scoring nine times while he played one hundred and sixty-eight times for Everton, netting on twenty-six occasions.

He has been capped eleven times for the Super Eagles with his one and only international goal so far coming in a friendly against Kenya in March 2011.

He also took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, scoring in a 2-1 win over Japan.

Stoke currently sit bottom of the Premier League with just one point while Hull have won two of their three matches so far and occupy fifth place.
