Claudio Pizarro’s proposed move to Hull is now in doubt, The Telegraph reports. The Chelsea striker would like to leave Stamford Bridge to try and to reignite his career, but Hull might not be able to afford giving the Peruvian a lifeline.
According to the reports, Pizarro would command wages of about £50,000 per week, which Hull will have trouble affording. Then there is also the transfer fee, on which the two clubs have not yet agreed.
“It’s a very expensive option, but again, it would be an option if we were allowed to speak to the lad. If that happened then who knows? But as far as we’re concerned we’ve made contact with Chelsea and that’s where it lies at the moment,” Hull manager Phil Brown was quoted by The Telegraph.
Hull have gained promotion to the Premier League via a wonder striker from Dean Windass, but he 39 year old might not have a heavy impact on the Premier League. Meanwhile, Hull have lost the services of Fraizer Campbell, who scored 15 goals for them last season. The youngster returned to Manchester United following his loan spell in The Championship.
