Bundesliga giants Schalke have signed Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in a £10.5million deal from AC Milan.
The 27-year-old had been linked with a move away from the Rossoneri this summer and clubs such as Tottenham were also interested in the striker.
“Negotiations were tougher than expected. I am happy to have Klaas-Jan. He will help us,” Schalke coach Felix Magath told the Bild newspaper on Tuesday.
Huntelaar failed to impress at AC Milan since joining the club from Spanish giants Real Madrid last year.
Huntelaar told his official website: “It is true I never wanted to leave Milan but that changed when Zlatan Ibrahimovic came from Barcelona. ”
