If fans were to make a choice between Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Lassana Diarra, as to which of the two players should appear in the Champions League after the winter break, they would clearly be in favor of the Dutchman.

Spanish sportspaper Marca conducted a poll to find out what its readers would prefer. Huntelaar earned almost 80 percent of the votes while Frenchman Diarra, dubbed ‘Lass’, has to settle for 20 percent.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that one of the two players probably won’t be eligible for Europe’s most prestigious club tournament as both have already represented their previous teams in this season’s UEFA Cup.

UEFA regulations determine that while each club can make three registration changes ahead of the CL knockout phase, only one of these three players is allowed to have played in the UEFA Cup for another team in the same season.
