(GSM) – Luca Toni is desperate to make his move from Bayern München to Roma permanent in the summer.
Toni made his return to action on Saturday night as a second half substitute against Milan (0-0) after a injury spell of nearly two months.
He is particularly looking forward to starting against Livorno this weekend, as he has already scored seven goals against the Tuscans in his career.
Asked to reveal his objectives for the rest of the season, Toni said: “If I want to go to South Africa I will have to score some goals for Roma.
“We hope to win the derby, finish among the top three, win the Coppa Italia. And, above all, I hope that Roma sign me at all costs.”
The 32-year-old hitman made an immediate impact on his arrival in January, scoring twice in two games.
He had hoped to form a pair up front regularly with his friend Francesco Totti, but Roma’s captain has had a problematic knee injury since December.
“Since I arrived here I expected to play with Francesco. I have only played one game with Mirko (Vucinic) but thanks to his efforts I scored two goals.
“He doesn’t play 90 minutes at the same level, but his little flushes make the difference,” Toni concluded.
