Juventus striker Vicenzo Iaquinta has had a lack of opportunities this season, but insists he is happy to stay at the club.
Iaquinta has been linked with a move away from the club in the Italian press in recent weeks.
“There is no escape here,” said Iaquinta to Tuttosport. “Of course, I too would like to be in the starting line-up, but my teammates are all great champions.
“However, you will never see me stir up controversies just for the sake of it. Before moving to this club, I knew what I had to expect. And when Trezeguet will return to action, we will have even more fire power.”
“I respect the coach’s decisions and I am aware of my strength, but I know there is a high level of competition here,” he continued.
“Competition that has increased even more since my good friend Amauri arrived and stole my place in the squad.
“But all jokes aside, he is a champion in this role and has quickly settled in. And everyone knows the weight of this shirt.”
