Radio Rossonera is reporting that AC Milan full-back Ignazio Abate is expected to leave Stadio San Siro at the end of the season.

The former Italy international has fallen from grace in recent years, and having started mere 7 league games this term, he will probably be allowed to leave.

According to reports, AC Milan may agree to terminate Abate’s contract one year ahead of time, allowing him to leave on a free transfer next summer.

Radio Rossonera claims that a switch to Major League Soccer is an option for Abate, who seems to prefer moving to a less demanding environment.

Despite also representing few more sides in Serie A and Serie B, the full-back was an AC Milan player for a large period of his career, making 220 top flight appearances for the Rossoneri.
