Ings ‘happy’ at Burnley; Pearson hoping to create chances for Kramaric

Burnley F.C. striker Danny Ings has revealed he is 'happy' at Turf Moor despite adding contract talks between him and the club have not progressed.

Burnley F.C. striker Danny Ings has revealed he is ‘happy’ at Turf Moor despite adding contract talks between him and the club have not progressed.

The England Under-21 international, whose current deal at Burnley is set to expire at the end of the season, is reportedly attracting interest from several clubs across Europe, including Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Real Sociedad.

When asked whether contract talks with the Clarets have progressed, Ings said: “To be honest, no, I’m just getting on with my football.

“Obviously with social media and all of that outside noise there’s going to be speculation for any player doing well for their club.

“I’m not the type of player to buzz off the speculation and think, ‘Maybe I can move there’. It’s all about the football, letting my feet do the talking, and I’m happy at the moment.”

Ings, who has tallied seven goals and three assists in 19 English Premier League appearances for Burnley this term, added: “When I came up with Burnley, I had my mind set that I’ve got a job to do in helping to keep Burnley up,” he added.

“It’s not all about me, it’s about the team, but I’ve got a massive target ahead of me and so have the team and I’m just focusing on that.

“What the gaffer has done extremely well is he’s brought out the best in every single one of us to perform to our absolute maximum.”

Pearson hoping to create chances for Kramaric

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson hopes his side can improve their creativity in order to create more goal-scoring chances for new signing Andrej Kramaric.

The Croatia international, 23, joined Leicester from Rijeka earlier this month, and is expected to play a pivotal role as the Foxes look to stave off relegation in their first year back in the Premier League.

“There’s going to be interest, of course, because of his arrival,” said Pearson.

“He’s a goalscorer and his record bears that out, but we didn’t really create too much in the last 20 minutes or so.

“It’s always difficult to judge a player when he’s going into a losing situation and we’re not being particularly creative. It’s never easy to quantify what he’s capable of.

“But I’m pleased he’s had some pitch time and experienced playing in front of our own crowd. That was important.”

Expect Kramaric to start when Leicester host Tottenham in the FA Cup fourth round next Saturday.
