Injured France captain Patrick Vieira is set to return to club duty for Inter Milan on Wednesday as the Italian champions take on Fiorentina.
Vieira injured his calf in the warmup to France's 2-2 World Cup qualifying draw with Romania on October 11, subsequently pulling out of the side's friendly against Tunisia days later.
Inter coach Jose Mourinho has a selection headache ahead of the tie against the fifth-placed Florence team, with midfielders Esteban Cambiasso, Luis Jimenez and Sulley Muntari all struggling to recover from knocks.
Ahead of Sunday's 0-0 draw with Genoa, Mourinho bemoaned the fact that players' country commitments often interfere with club duties.
“Vieira is better but he cannot yet play. I also had French players at Chelsea and it was always the same,” said Mourinho, who has steered the Milan giants to joint top in the championship.
“They come back injured from international matches or are injured a few days later,” he added.
