Inter agree Vrsaljko deal

Inter Milan have reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Šime Vrsaljko, the Spanish club have officially confirmed. The deal is now subject only to a medical and the finalization of the legal documentation.

Vrsaljko arrived to Madrid from Sassuolo in 2016, and played a total of 54 games in all competitions for Diego Simeone’s team, scoring a single goal in that time. Capped 41 times in total, the Croatian defender has put in outstanding performances for his national team at the World Cup in Russia this year, helping them reach the final of the tournament where they were eventually defeated by France.

His career started at Lokomotiva Zagreb in 2009, from where he moved to Dinamo. After a total of four seasons in his homeland he went to Italy to join Genoa in 2013, and then Sassuolo a year later. With Atletico he won the Europa League last season, and the club have expressed their gratitude for his contribution and best wishes for his future.
