Inter Milan have denied making an offer for Younes Belhanda following claims made by Montpellier president Louis Nicollin.

Morocco international Belhanda helped fire Montpellier to an improbable Ligue 1 title triumph last season.

The forward has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce, while Nicollin had claimed he was set to join Serie A giants Inter.

His club president Nicollin was

“We have reached an agreement with Inter over a transfer fee of 14 million euros,” Nicollin was quoted as saying by AMKSpor.

“Fenerbahce did not want to pay more than 8 million euros. That’s why I have opted to accept Inter’s bid instead. Every player has his price, and 8 million euros is not enough for Belhanda.”

Inter, however, have denied the claim.

In a statement released on the club’s website, technical director Marco Branca said: “We don’t like contradicting the Montpellier president but Inter have not made an offer for Younes Belhanda.”

Inter are believed to be in the market for a new midfielder following the departure of Wesley Sneijder to Galatasaray earlier this week.

Belhanda meanwhile is on international duty with Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
