Inter have already begun the process of overhauling their squad ahead of the 2013-14 season.

The San Siro outfit have endured a tough Serie A campaign this time around and remain outsiders in the race to secure European football next season.

However, head coach Andrea Stramaccioni’s rebuilding plans are now underway after club director Marco Fassone announced the signings of five new “interesting” players, who will join when the transfer window reopens in the close season.

Fassone confirmed that even though Inter are unable to spend “crazy money”, they have concluded deals for Mauro Icardi, Diego Laxalt, Hugo Campagnaro, Marco Andreolli and Ruben Botta, Football Italia reports.

Argentine striker Icardi is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in Italian football following his breakthrough season with Sampdoria, while Laxalt and Campagnaro have been recruited from Napoli and Defensor respectively.

Meanwhile, Andreolli and Botta will move to San Siro from Chievo and Tigre respectively.
