hot-transfer-newsInter eyeing Arsenal duo

Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport has suggested that Inter are showing interest in Arsenal forwards Joel Campbell and Lukas Podolski.

The Nerazzurri are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements and sporting director Piero Ausilio is currently in London looking at potential targets.

And after watching the Crystal Palace v Liverpool clash yesterday, the Inter official is expected to head to the Emirates this evening and be in attendance as Arsenal host Southampton.

According to Tuttosport, both Joel Campbell and Lukas Podolski are on the Nerazzurri’s radar and Ausilio will use the visit to London to establish the initial contact with the Gunners.

Neither of the two forwards is currently in the first team plans of manager Arsene Wenger and they should be available at a reasonable price in January.

At the same time, Inter are looking at Fabio Borini, Mohamed Salah and Alessio Cerci as they look to reinforce the attacking department.

PSG’s Verratti in high demand

A host of Europe’s top clubs are keeping close tabs on Paris Saint-Germain starlet Marco Verratti, Le 10 Sport can reveal.

The talented footballer has largely impressed since arriving at Parc des Princes from Pescara and he is currently tied to the club until June 2019 having recently signed a new deal.

However, PSG officials are well aware their star player is on the radar of quite a few top sides and they might need to ward off interest in his services.

The Saints rejected big money offers from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich last summer, while Juventus have yet to make concrete moves.

Verratti, 22, is happy at Parc des Princes at the moment, but it remains to be seen whether the situation will change at the end of the season.

With Marseille slipping up against Lorient yesterday evening, PSG have a chance to return to the top of the standings, with Saints priced at 3/4 to defeat Lille tonight.

Benfica close on Joaquin Correa

Portuguese media outlet O Jogo has learned that Benfica are on the verge of completing a deal for Estudiantes midfielder Joaquin Correa.

The Eagles have been hot on the trail of the talented footballer for a while and they made the first concrete moves several weeks ago.

According to O Jogo, Correa is almost certain to move to Estadio da Luz in January, as Estudiantes are prepared to accommodate his sale.

Namely, the midfielder’s agent Isidoro Gimenez has reportedly persuaded the Argentine giants to accept a €7 million offer for the 20-year-old footballer.

Joaquin Correa came through the youth ranks at Estudiantes and has so far made a total of 52 league appearances.

The attacking midfielder is predicted a bright future in the game and Benfica look like a perfect club for him to continue his development.
