Inter Milan lead chase for Lavezzi

Inter Milan are in pole position to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, La Gazzetta dello Sport has learned.

The Saints have yet to decide whether to allow the Argentine to leave this month or wait until his contract comes to an end, but they could receive at least one offer in the dying moments of the January window.

Even though Chelsea and Barcelona appear to be keen as well, it is Inter Milan that emerged as the favourites for the player’s signature.

Roberto Mancini wants Lavezzi by his side this winter and he is readying a deadline day bid for his services.

The highly rated footballer is eager to leave PSG in search of first team football and everything suggests he will be returning to Italian Serie A.

Lavezzi enjoyed five very successful years at Napoli, during which he featured in 156 Serie A matches and scored a total of 38 goals.
