Talk Sport is reporting the long-term Manchester United target, Wesley Sneijder is on his way out of Inter Milan in the January transfer window, but they may not be able to secure his services.
This is because Inter’s bitter rivals AC Milan are also apparently weighing up an offer for the Dutch midfielder, a move that would certainly shock a few.
These two Serie A giants are fierce rivals and Sneijder would not be popular with his current employers if he made the switch to AC, but they seem keen on signing him in January.
Milan believe that Nigel De Jong could play a big part in the deal as he is very good friends with the playmaker and could persuade him to join last season’s runners-up in the Italian top flight.
They certainly need to add some new faces to a squad that is really struggling in the league and would welcome the 28-year-old as they head into the final 16 of the Champions League.
United are sure to keep an eye on the situation of the Holland international as they would also love to secure his services, but he could be ready for a move to AC Milan, which would cause plenty of controversy.
