Italy´s Vignaroli stays with Newcastle Jets

Italian playmaker Fabio Vignaroli has agreed to extend his contract with Australian A-League club Newcastle Jets.

The Jets said the former Lazio and Bologna attacking midfielder had agreed to terms with the club for a further year.

Vignaroli, 33, was pivotal to the Jets’ reaching the last 16 of this year’s AFC Champions League.

The signing is a boost for the team, who begin their A-League season against Wellington Phoenix at home on Sunday.
