West Brom striker Roman Bednar has accused Chelsea captain John Terry of trying to hurt him during last weekend’s 3-0 win for Chelsea.

Bednar was unhappy with the behaviour of Terry when the two players clashed for the ball in the first half.

“We were caught up in each other. When he was falling down he deliberately put his hands there to make it painful for me. I tried to respond, but he gave gave me a header into my belly. It was not fair from him, he was then like mad.”

I’m sorry, and I would never condone physical violence designed to injure someone, but isn’t football a man’s game? Isn’t part of an individual contest the need to win the physical battle?

Just get up Roman and throw yourself into the next battle. Stop whingeing to the press and get on with it!

It is a man’s game, and you’re right, he shouldn’t whine about it, especially publically, but it is very low indeed to try to deliberately hurt someone, like Italian low. This is England Terry, not Italy. If you want to play for the Azzuri and deliberately injure players *cough* Henry world cup final *cough*, thats fine, but this is England and we have a higher standard here, nobility if you will. Terry is a tough guy though who plays physically so I think Bednar should quite his bitching and know what to expect from his opponent.

Got something to say?
