Iturra completes shock switch to Granada

La Liga minnows Granada have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Malaga midfielder Manuel Iturra.

The Chilean arrives on a free transfer and has signed a three-year deal with the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes outfit.

Iturra had rejected a new contract offer from Malaga, but his move to Granada has come as a major surprise given that he had been linked with a number of Europe’s top clubs.

Liverpool were among sides showing interest in the highly rated midfielder, but they have missed a great chance to sign a quality footballer completely free of charge.

Iturra opted to sign a one-year deal when he arrived at Malaga from Real Murcia, but he quickly proved his worth at the biggest stage.

The 28-year-old went on to make 25 La Liga appearances for los Boquerones, while featuring in no less than 8 Champions League matches this season.
