Iturra leaves Malaga for Granada

Granada have announced the signing of midfielder Manuel Iturra from Malaga.

The 28-year-old has penned a three-year deal after completing a medical on Tuesday morning as Granada target a top-half finish in La Liga next season.

A move away from Malaga for Iturra seemed unlikely last month when the Chile international stated: “I’d love to stay here in Malaga.

“We were so close to reaching the Champions League semis this year, and we were knocked out of the Copa del Rey by the mighty FC Barcelona. Not many teams have achieved as much as Malaga this season in recent years.”

Iturra, though, has now parted company after one season at Malaga, having joined from Portuguese club Uniao Leiria in August 2012.

He made 25 appearances in La Liga last season as Malaga finished sixth under Manuel Pellegrini.
