Iwobi pens new Arsenal deal

Alex Iwobi has penned a new triple-your-money contract at Arsenal, according to the Mirror.

The winger has broken into the Gunners’ first team this season and has so far racked twelve appearances in all competitions while he scored in the recent wins over both Everton and Watford.

The new terms have seen him treble his wages to around £30,000 per week and will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until the end of the 2020/21 campaign.

Iwobi, the nephew of former Bolton Wanderers star Jay Jay Okocha, has already been recognised at senior international level, winning three caps for Nigeria despitre representing England from the U16s to the U18s.

Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Watford on Saturday afternoon kept them eleven points behind league leaders Leicester City, while they still have a game in hand over the Foxes.

They can close the gap with victory over West Ham United in Saturday’s early kick-off.
