Yokohama F. Marinos missed a chance to move to the top of the J.League table with a 1-1 home draw against Ventforet Kofu on Saturday.

Omiya Ardija climbed to first with a 4-0 thrashing of Kashiwa Reysol on Friday and Yokohama F. Marinos failed to respond at the Nissan Stadium.

They were in the lead for the majority of the game though, after former Celtic midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura opened the scoring in the fourth minute.

That looked like it would be enough to give them the three points they needed to return to the top of the league but the visitors had other ideas.

Naoaki Aoyama scored a dramatic 95th-minute equaliser for Ventforet Kofu as they extended their unbeaten run on the road to five matches.

The third-placed Urawa Reds slumped to a 1-0 home defeat against Shimizu S-Pulse, with Brazilian forward Bare netting the game’s only goal after 64 minutes.

Kashima Antlers jumped to fourth thanks to a 3-2 away win at Albirex Niigata.

Gaku Shibasaki handed the winners the lead after just six minutes before an end-to-end second half excited the fans at the Tohoku Denryoku Big Swan Stadium.

Davi’s 56th-minute goal put Kashima 2-0 ahead but Sho Naruoka produced a quick response for the hosts.

And even though Kashima’s two-goal advantage was restored by Kazuya Yamamura with 12 minutes left, a stoppage-time goal from Kentaro Ohi gave the winners some nervous moments.

Jubilo Iwata thumped Shonan Bellmare 4-0 in a battle of two teams who have struggled this season.

Hiroki Yamada gave Jubilo the perfect start with a goal inside the first minute and Takuya Matsuura’s strike doubled their lead.

Masahiko Inoha and Ryohei Yamazaki netted after the half-time break to seal the easy win.

Other results saw FC Tokyo defeat Kawasaki Frontale 2-0, Nagoya Grampus and Sanfreece Hiroshima played out a 1-1 draw while there were no goals in the meeting between Cerezo Osaka and Oita Trinita.
