Javier Mascherano wants MLS switch

Catalan daily newspaper Sport understands that Argentine midfielder Javier Mascherano is looking to leave Barcelona in the near future.

The 33-year-old is no longer considered a first team regular at Camp Nou, and he is currently behind Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti in the pecking order.

According to reports, the Argentine is leaning towards a switch to Major League Soccer, whereas he is not interested in other exotic destinations such as China and Qatar.

Javier Mascherano has spent last seven and a half years at Camp Nou, making 201 La Liga appearances and scoring 1 goal.
