New Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has confirmed that his centre half John Terry will remain as the club captain for this season.
Terry was first appointed as captain by former manager José Mourinho four seasons ago.
Scolari responded to questions from the media by saying that Terry had a proven track record and has lead Chelsea to two Barclays Premiership League titles, Carling Cup and FA Cup victories and a Champions League final.
Frank Lampard will assume the captains armband when Terry becomes unavailable for selection.
Asked whether he would be bringing new players into the club, Scolari responded by saying that he had not had enough time to assess the situation as he had still to get to know all of the players in his squad.
