Liverpool full-back Glen Johnson did not train with the rest of the England squad here on Tuesday after playing in Monday’s 2-2 Premier League draw against Birmingham City.

Johnson was the only outfield player in Fabio Capello’s squad for this coming Saturday’s friendly international against Brazil in Doha to play at Anfield, with Reds midfielder Steven Gerrard missing the trip to Qatar because of a groin injury.

Goalkeeper Joe Hart played for Birmingham.

With Portsmouth’s David James not in the squad, West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green could be in line for a return to the 1st XI after starting six straight matches before his dismissal against Ukraine, which led to Manchester United’s Ben Foster playing in the Belarus World Cup qualifier.
