Juan Quintero set for Rennes exit

French daily newspaper L’Equipe has learned that FC Porto midfielder Juan Quintero is set to join Internacional Porto Alegre.

The Colombia international is currently on loan at Rennes, but he could be leaving les Bretons before the current season comes to an end.

Namely, Quintero has all but agreed a loan deal with Internacional and he is expected to remain in Brazil until December.

Having not been used for almost two months, Rennes are unlikely to stand in the player’s way as he looks to kick-start his career in South America.

Juan Quintero was widely regarded as one of Colombia’s hottest prospects when he left Pescara to join FC Porto, but he has since struggled to rediscover the form that had served him so well in Italy’s top flight.

The loan spell with Rennes has been pretty disappointing as well, with the 23-year-old making 12 league appearances and scoring one goal.
